Fear of Dark Skin

The fear of getting tan (and being 'black' as Thais would say) makes people do crazy things, like wearing a long sleeve jacket and covering all skin even though it's 100°F outside. This gardener tends to the grounds of the western outpost of the Khmer Empire, which stretched all the way west to Kanchanaburi (current border of Thailand and Myanmar).
